Caster Wheels - Quick Summary |
| Our Caster
Wheel selection covers all of the bases. With both hard and soft materials, we
have just the right wheel for your application. Our Caster Wheels are not only
for our casters but may be used as replacements in your current equipment. Many
of our customers buy our caster wheels for special projects and they are never
even installed in casters. For tips on choosing the right caster wheel, go to
our Tips Page. See our
Products Page for our
entire line of Casters and Caster Wheels. Below is our summary for Caster
Wheels. |

| PREMIUM
Rubber Caster Wheels PREMIUM rubber caster wheels have a special compound of highly resilient soft rubber bonded to thick aluminum wheel centers. Unlike Conventional Moldon rubber caster wheels, PREMIUM rubber caster wheels can be moved manually when loaded to their rated capacities. |
|
| SUPER CUSHION Rubber
Caster Wheels SUPER CUSHION rubber caster wheels have a noise absorbing and shock isolating extra resilient soft rubber tread bonded to thick aluminum wheel centers. They are ideally suited for moving fragile or delicate cargo. They are more resilient than pneumatics with none of the maintenance problems associated with air filled wheels. |
|
| Extra Soft
Rubber Caster Wheels The extra soft rubber on these caster wheels helps to absorb vibration and shock, thus protecting the load or cargo while in transit. Another benefit of these extra soft rubber caster wheels is noise reduction. These caster wheels are designed for use in Hospitals, Electronic and Scientific Laboratories, Hotels, Department Stores, TV and Movie Studios - wherever vibration and noise should be eliminated. |
|
| Conventional Moldon
Rubber Caster Wheels These Conventional Moldon rubber caster wheels have soft rubber tires molded onto iron centers. Soft rubber provides more desirable operating characteristics than any other wheel material. It is quiet, absorbs shock (prolonging equipment life and protecting cargo), can roll over small objects, protects costly floor surfaces, and minimizes vibration. |
|
| Gray Rubber Caster
Wheels These caster wheels have gray non-marking injection molded rubber mechanically and chemically bonded to a polyolefin center. These caster wheels provide a softer ride than polyurethane and yet withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents. They can be used in industrial applications which do not involve shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, poor floors or storage (standing) loads. |
|
| All Polyurethane
(Solid Poly) Caster Wheels These solid all polyurethane caster wheels are non marking and non conductive. The absence of a metal center eliminates bond failure as a cause for wheel replacement. These caster wheels are especially suited for use with stainless steel casters in wet and corrosive applications. Standard color is Blue. |
|
| Polyurethane Caster
Wheels with Iron Centers (PY) Polyurethane is superior to rubber in resistance to grease, oil, cutting, chunking, and abrasive wear. These caster wheels can be used on almost any dry factory floor. As with moldon rubber, the bonding agent which holds the polyurethane tire to its iron center can be affected by exposure to some chemicals, impact, overloading, and the buildup of heat. |
|
| Polyurethane on
Glass-filled Nylon Caster Wheels (UG) These caster wheels have a liquid cast non-marking polyurethane tire chemically bonded to a Glass-filled Nylon core. Liquid cast polyurethane has a greater load capacity and tends to be more durable than injection molded polyurethane. The Glass-filled Nylon core prevents corrosion. |
|
| Polyurethane
Crown Tread Caster Wheels with Aluminum Centers (PCA) These non-marking wheels are easy rolling and can be used on both hard floors and carpet. The crown shape of the tread allows the wheel to roll on carpet without bunching up the carpet in front of its path. When used in a swivel caster, it also enables the swivel to rotate easier than with flat tread wheels. The Extra Large Sealed Precision Ball Bearings in these wheels are maintenance free and prevent grease from coming in contact with floors. All of these features, taken together, make these wheels the most cost effective over the long run. |
|
| Polyurethane
Caster Wheels with Polyolefin Centers These caster wheels are non marking injection molded polyurethane tires mechanically and chemically bonded to a polyolefin center. They withstand exposure to many chemicals and solvents. They can be used in industrial applications which do not involve shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, poor floors or storage ( standing ) loads. |
|
| Phenolic Caster
Wheels Phenolic caster wheels are made from heavy weave canvas duck, impregnated with phenolic resin, and molded under high pressure and temperature. Its hardness is comparable to polished maple flooring. Phenolic caster wheels are recommended for smooth concrete or wood floors, and can be used for storage (standing) loads without permanent set. |
|
| Polyolefin
Caster Wheels These polyolefin caster wheels are especially suited for use in wet and corrosive applications. They are injection molded from a blend of thermoplastic polymers, forming a one piece solid sanitary design. Temperature range 30° to +180° F. In a cold dry environment, such as in a refrigerated storeroom, polyolefin may become brittle. Caster wheels are standard with a plain bore, Delrin bearing, or a Roller bearing. Polyolefin is very resistant to many commonly encountered liquids. |
|
| High Temperature
Caster Wheels A new high temperature special material designed specifically for autoclaves, sterilizers, bakery ovens, and other high temperature applications. These solid black caster wheels come only with a hard surface tread designed for high capacity and easy rolling on smooth floors. Temperature rating: 450° F continuous. |
|
| Gray Iron
(Semi-Steel) Caster Wheels These iron caster wheels provide high capacity and are less expensive than forged steel caster wheels. They are practical for use on wood block or hardened smooth concrete. On untreated concrete they tend to cause rapid floor deterioration. Although the treads are machined smooth to minimize floor wear, iron caster wheels are not recommended where floor or cargo protection is needed. |
|
| Ductile Steel
& Forged Steel Caster Wheels Where loads are too heavy for floor protective wheels, or where unusually severe service factors are present, forged steel & Ductile steel caster wheels will do the job. Usually in these applications the user will not consider floor wear as too great a penalty considering the work that is being done. Forged steel caster wheels will damage most factory floors, and thus are generally used on steel plate, in channel, or as V-groove wheels rolling on angle iron track. |
|
| V-Groove Caster
Wheels V-groove caster wheels are designed to guide equipment by rolling on inverted angle iron track. Elevated track minimizes problems caused by floor debris. The relief groove at the base of the "V" equalizes the load on each face of the angle. Forged Steel V-groove caster wheels minimize wear of the V-groove sides and are best for frequent operation. |
