Industrial Caster - Caster Model 9 - Plate Mount

Capacity up to 900 pounds per caster.
These rugged cold forged casters are recommended only for manually moved applications. Model 9 is our most popular industrial caster due to its widespread use throughout industry and its low initial cost.
You should never select on the basis of load capacity alone. Capacity ratings do not take into account the effort required to manually move a load. Capacity ratings are based on manual operation under ideal conditions. If these casters are going to be moved by mechanically powered equipment, consult us for a reduced capacity rating based on your application. Rollability is a function of floor surface, wheel material, capacity and the environment. If a human being has to move the weight, select the largest practical wheel diameter.
Any doubt as to which wheel or caster is the best choice for your application, contact us for a recommendation.
Features:
  • Swivel Construction - cold forged top plate and yoke base from 1/4" steel. Swivel has double ball bearing with hardened raceways.
  • Center Pin - 5/8" diameter, rivet or bolt and nut.
  • Legs - 1/4" thick, welded outside only.
  • Axle - 1/2'' diameter hollow bolt with lock nut.
  • Wheel Bearing - R= Roller Bearing,
B= Ball Bearings, D= Delrin Bearings,
PS= Precision Sealed Ball Bearings, P= Plain Bore
  • Grease Fittings - for swivel and wheel bearings.
  • Finish - external metal parts are zinc plated
Optional Features:

Wheel Brake
TB - Pedal on side of Wheel
Locks top of wheel.
Sealed Precision
Ball Bearings

- PS - Sealed Precision Ball Bearings increase rollability and are maintenance free. Available on Non-Metal Center Wheels.
Wheel Brakes are not designed to hold on inclines.
Swivel Lock - SL4 - Welded - Locks Swivel, NOT wheel.
This caster is also available in Stainless Steel. Click Here.
Also Available:    Swivel-EAZ ™ Polyurethane Wheel
  • Each wheel has two independent rotating surfaces which enhance capacity and swivel ease.
  • They are ergonomically designed to minimize the force required to initially start an object as well as the force required to keep it in motion.
  • They improve safety for your employees by reducing the risk of injury.
  • The heavy duty aluminum centers are equipped with extra large sealed precision ball bearings which require NO maintenance.

Also Available:    Floor Truck Locks
Floor Truck Locks are used to hold equipment in place on level floors only. When you step on the activation pedal, a rubber pad comes in contact with the floor providing friction so that the equipment will not move. Floor Locks are not designed to lift the equipment. Install between swivel casters. Release rubber pad by stepping on either of the Release Pedals.

Maximum Capacity under ideal conditions.
If your application exceeds 40 minutes at the maximum temperature rating for these wheels contact us at 800-501-3808 for a recommendation.
You should never select on the basis of load capacity alone. Capacity ratings do not take into account the effort required to manually move a load. If these casters are going to be moved by mechanically powered equipment, consult us for a reduced capacity rating based on your application. If a human being has to move the weight, select the largest practical wheel diameter.

If a caster failure occurs it is almost always because of misuse or abuse. It has been very rare that a product failed because of faulty material or poor workmanship. The following are examples of things that we do NOT want you to do:

1. Dragging the wheel sideways.
2. Shock or Impact caused by dropping the load instead of setting it down on the castered equipment.
3. Improper Installation such as:
  A. Rigid casters not installed parallel to one another.
  B. Swivel casters not installed parallel to the floor.
  C. Using less than 4 bolts to attach the mounting plate.
  D. Distortion of the swivel bearing when attaching the mounting plate due to welding improperly.
4. Exceeding the rated capacity of the wheel or caster.
5. Exceeding a rolling speed of 3 MPH.
6. The build up of heat caused by continuous operation causing tire separation.
