Model 9A Caster Bracket - Capacity up to 900 pounds per caster.
These Industrial Casters are used where the caster must be totally immobile when the caster brake is applied. Caster Model 9A has a unique brake which locks both the wheel and the swivel bearing at the same time. This "Total-Lock" brake insures that the swivel caster will not turn when the wheel is locked. This combination wheel brake and swivel lock is essential for safety in some applications - such as on worktables, machines and large mobil racks. The total-locking brake is desireable whenever a swivel caster must be totally immobile.
Features:
  • Swivel Construction - cold forged top plate and yoke base from 1/4" steel. Swivel has double ball bearing with hardened raceways.
  • Center Pin - 5/8" diameter, rivet or bolt and nut.
  • Legs - 1/4" thick.
  • Axle - 1/2'' diameter hollow bolt with lock nut.
  • Wheel Bearing - Extra Large Precision Sealed Ball Bearings.
  • Grease Fitting - for swivel bearing.
  • Finish - external metal parts are zinc plated
  • Swivel Lock - Option available on the Swivel Caster without Total Lock.

Total-Lock Brake:
  • Combination Wheel Brake and Swivel Lock - This brake simultaneously locks the wheel and the swivel. One step on the activating pedal instantly locks the entire caster holding the equipment firmly in place. Releasing the pedal frees the swivel and wheel.

Deduct 1 lb. for weight of rigid caster. Add 1 lb. for weight of Swivel Caster with Total Lock Brake.
You should never select on the basis of load capacity alone. Capacity ratings do not take into account the effort required to manually move a load. Capacity ratings are based on manual operation under ideal conditions. If these casters are going to be moved by mechanically powered equipment, consult us for a reduced capacity rating based on your application. If a human being has to move the weight, select the largest practical wheel diameter.
