Dual Wheel Casters with DW PolyurethaneWheels
Models 2-30, 2-50, 2-100

Dual Wheel casters provide a high load capacity with a minimum overall height. The larger footprint ( two wheels instead of one ) enhances stability and spreads the load over a larger floor area. The differential action inherent in all swivel dual wheel casters minimizes the effort required to change directions. We offer the finest quality polyurethane tires on the wheels in these casters. There are two different colors. Each color represents a different tire hardness. Too often the purchase of wheels and casters is based on criteria far removed from the essential purpose – “Will they move the load smoothly and easily?” A piece of equipment purchased to carry and move a 2,000 lb. load is costly when it is loaded with only 1,000 lbs. in order to roll. Most people will load equipment only to a weight they can move easily and without injury. Equipment that requires two men to move it, when one should suffice, is also an expensive unit, regardless of acquisition cost. With an easier rolling wheel and easier turning swivel, employees tire less, there are fewer accidents and productivity increases. Our Staff can give you valuable assistance in the selection of the right combination of wheels and casters for your needs. They are knowledgeable, competent and experienced in caster usage.Features:

  • Hot forged steel precision machined combination load and thrust bearing with heat treated raceway.
  • No center pin to fail in arduous applications.
  • Sealed Precision Ball Bearings in all wheels.
  • Each caster has two wheels which rotate independently and improve swivel rotation.
  • These polyurethane wheels are ergonomically designed to minimize the force required to initially start an object as well as the force required to keep it in motion.
  • They are made with high performance non-marking polyurethane tires. When used in these casters the maximum recommended speed is 3 miles per hour.
  • They improve safety for your employees by reducing the risk of injury.

Lead time is 2 days for swivel and rigid casters without options. Lead time is 7 to 10 days for swivel casters with a face contact wheel brake or a swivel lock.

You should never select on the basis of load capacity alone. Capacity ratings do not take into account the effort required to manually move a load. Capacity ratings are based on manual operation under ideal conditions. If these casters are going to be moved by mechanically powered equipment, consult us for a reduced capacity rating based on your application. If a human being has to move the weight, select the largest practical wheel diameter.

If a caster failure occurs it is almost always because of misuse or abuse. It has been very rare that a product failed because of faulty material or poor workmanship. The following are examples of things that we do NOT want you to do:

1. Dragging the wheel sideways.
2. Shock or Impact caused by dropping the load instead of setting it down on the castered equipment.
3. Improper Installation such as:
 A. Rigid casters not installed parallel to one another.
 B. Swivel casters not installed parallel to the floor.
 C. Using less than 4 bolts to attach the mounting plate.
 D. Distortion of the swivel bearing when attaching the mounting plate due to welding improperly.
4. Exceeding the rated capacity of the wheel or caster.
5. Exceeding a rolling speed of 3 MPH.
6. The build up of heat caused by continuous operation causing tire separation.
