4″ All Polyurethane – Stainless Steel Stem Caster Total Lock Brake 3A

4″ All Polyurethane Wheel. Brake Locks both the Swivel and Wheel Shown in photo with 5″ wheels. This 3A stem swivel caster is our stainless steel total locking light duty industrial caster which uses the same 1-¼” wide wheels as our standard Model 3. A total lock brake locks the swivel and the wheel. It latches them simultaneously by one foot on the brake pedal. The plate caster swivel model 3A has a metal total lock pedal.  It is simple to turn on but not as simple to let go as the nylon brake pedal featured on K3. The metal lock can only be reached if the release deise with the type of your shoe which may not allow enough burden to be utilized to unlock the brake.  This is not an issue with the nylon brake pedal on model k3. The metal total lock brake pedal is an alternative on 3a swivels. The metal pedal is shown slightly under the mounting plate of the swivel caster and slightly over the wheel.  The metal pedal extends behind the wheel so the toe of your shoe can simply reach the activation pedal. The metal pedal burrows into polyurethane and rubber tires more than the nylon pedal. The amount of the metal pedal total lock brake is more than the cost of a total lock brake with a nylon pedal. Neither type of total lock brake are possible on a caster rigid.

This solid all polyurethane industrial caster wheel was developed for sanitary and washdown applications, and is capable of rolling indoors or outdoors. The blue all polyurethane (“AP”) caster wheel is manufactured in 1-¼” wide and with diameters ranging from 3”-5”. Caster City manufactures this 1-1/4″ wide (“AP”) blue all polyurethane wheel to come with a steel spanner bushing which is available in stainless steel as well upon request. The temperature range of this industrial caster wheel is -50°to 180° F and the durometer of the polyurethane is Shore 60D.

These wheels are non marking and non conductive. The absence of a metal center eliminates bond failure as a cause for wheel replacement. These caster wheels are especially suited for use with stainless steel casters in wet and corrosive applications. They are designed for use in Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Hospitals, and Food Processing Plants – wherever a clean sanitary design is desired. These wheels are not recommended for applications involving shock, overloading, abuse, obstructions, poor floors, or for storage (standing) loads.

These wheels are designed for use in a wet environment and they eliminate the possibility of tire separation.
