Description
4″ Gray Soft Rubber.Swivel Bearing Seal & Grease Fitting. Shown in photo with 5″ wheels. Stainless Steel Stem Caster Model 3 is made using a stamped steel construction and is excellent for corrosive applications. This institutional stem caster is a step up from most swivel casters of its price range since it uses a ⅜” axle bolt and it’s center pin steel rivet is ½” diameter. Stainless Steel stem Caster Model 3 caster brackets have two rows of ball bearings rotating on raceways for smoother swiveling. There is a solid cover over the swivel raceways to shield them from dirt and dust. The Stainless Steel Stem Caster Model 3 performs best if you limit the load to no more than 1000 lbs on a set of 4 Model 3 casters.
This caster wheel is made of a non-marking gray rubber tire that is mechanically bonded to it’s polyolefin center. This caster wheel is 1-¼” wide and is designed to use a ⅜” axle. This caster wheel has a durometer of 90-95 A which assists in vibration and noise dampening. This institutional gray soft rubber caster wheel is completed with plastic thread guards which act as spanner bushings for the sealed precision ball bearing in the center of the hub, providing ample protection for the bearing from direct moisture contact. Injection molded caster wheels are not designed to carry large amounts of weight in static load applications, please consult with us for a better choice.
In a food service industry, hospitals, science and research labs, where stainless steel casters on carts need to roll quietly without marking the floors, Caster City’s RF Soft Gray Rubber Caster Wheel gets the job done without a hitch. Its gray non-marking thermoplastic rubber tire, mechanically bonded to a polyolefin center, absorbs shocks to protect the cart and fragile food trays, handling small debris with ease. This wheel reduces noise and vibration, making it ideal for hospitals, pharmaceutical labs, and food service environments where clean, quiet performance is a priority.
The soft gray rubber RF wheel in a stainless steel caster can handle exposure to chemicals and solvents without breaking a sweat, but it’s not designed for rough abuse—avoid overloading, uneven floors, or letting it sit under a load for too long, as that can cause flat spots. If you’re moving the cart by hand, drop the load capacity by 50% to make pushing easier, and choose the largest diameter you can for a smoother roll. Designed for dry factory floors, the RF Soft Gray Rubber Caster Wheel in a stainless steel caster protects expensive surfaces and prolongs equipment life, but be mindful of harsh impacts or certain chemicals that might affect the bonding over time.
