The Economy Stainless Steel Model K3 stem caster frames are constructed with stamped steel and the 304 stainless steel is excellent for corrosion resistance and washdowns, such as with food processing. This stainless steel stem caster uses a ⅜” diameter axle and the swivel caster raceway is held together by a ½” diameter rivet. The stainless steel stem caster raceways have two ball bearings to assist with changing direction and to handle thrust loads. This caster is excellent for washdown situations due to having no swivel bearing cover or a grease fitting, which helps facilitate water draining through the swivel bearing and raceways. This stem caster performs best if you limit the load to no more than 1000 lbs on a set of 4 Model K3 casters.

Soft gray rubber wheels like the “RF” caster wheel are non-marking rubber tires that are injection molded to an industrial plastic center. This institutional caster wheel was designed to use a ⅜” axle and the tread width of the tire is 1-¼”.The durometer of this soft gray rubber caster wheel is 90-95A, making it ideal for vibration and noise reduction. This caster wheel has a sealed precision ball bearing protected with plastic spanner bushings that reduce the inner diameter of the axle, act as thread guards, and guard the bearing from indirect and direct moisture exposure. These caster wheels should not be left standing under load for extended periods as the tires may take a permanent “set” or develop flat spots.
