Description
Swivel casters of the Model 9 are low cost and come in a wide variety. The swivel has a center pin welded to a bolt and nut that can withstand normal wear and tear during movement by hand or other means. Two rows of balls and heat-treated raceways are mounted beneath the mounting plate. With a diameter of 5/8″, leg thickness of 1/4″, and axle diameter of 1/2″, the Model 9 has a hub diameter of 2 7/16″, and a 5/8″ center bolt. Designed from stamped steel, this caster has a distinctive appearance. Every moving part is lubricated with a lubricating fitting plated with zinc for rust prevention. This model also includes two types of caster locks and a number of wheel brakes for a wide range of applications. Various wheel bearing sizes and mounting plate types are available upon request.
In storage or standing load applications, our Model 9 Phenolic Casters deliver smooth operation. Their hard composition ensures that they will not develop flat spots. They will carry weights as great as an iron wheel. They can handle small obstructions and shock loads. You should use polyolefin wheels instead of plastic wheels if excessive exposure to water or chemicals occurs. Each plastic wheel in Model 9 includes a roller bearing. Operating temperatures range from -40°C to +250°C. Moreover, its intermittent use may reach 300°F.
DO NOT ORDER SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS IF YOU ORDER THE TL – TOTAL LOCK BRAKE. THE TL BRAKE WILL NOT WORK WITH EITHER THE SWIVEL LOCK OR RACEWAY SEALS.
