Rigid Casters with phenolic wheels are chosen where straight line travel is significant and needed. Normally sold with swivel casters, rigid casters are primarily for hand powered equipment.
Model 9 Phenolic Casters are an superb choice for capacity load applications. The solid configuration of the wheel ensures that it can not have a flat spot. The phenolic wheel carries loads as well as the same size iron wheel. The phenolic wheel is able to withstand high shock loads and the impacts of small obstructions when in use. They can also absorb chemicals and water but if this gets excessive, polyolefin wheels are better Phenolic wheels in Model 9 come standard with a roller bearing. Temperature range is -40° to +250° F, with intermittent use up to 300° F.
