5″ Polyurethane on Aluminum – Plate Swivel Caster 3
$37.67
Technical Specifications

Description
Plate Caster Model 3 Swivel is constructed from stamped steel and features a bright zinc plated finish for corrosion protection. The top plate is 2-3/8″ x 3-5/8″ and the hole pattern is 1-3/4″ x 3″, slotted to 1-3/4″ x 2-7/8″ and accepts 5/16″ mounting bolts. This caster has a 3/8″ diameter bolt axle with a locking nut and the swivel is held together by a 1/2″ diameter rivet. Constructed with two rows of ball bearings on hardened raceways to ensure smooth swiveling and long life. The swivel raceways are protected by a metal dust cover that keeps out dirt and dust. Features wheels with 1-1/4″ and 1-1/2″ tread widths. Ideal for wine shop fixtures, craft beer equipment, and bottle storage racks. This zinc plated caster is NSF listed. A Stainless Steel Model 3 version is also available for wet or corrosive environments.
The UAO industrial caster wheel features a robust crown tread polyurethane tire chemically and mechanically bonded to a sturdy aluminum hub. This orange polyurethane on aluminum caster wheel offers higher aesthetic value than iron centered wheels and is lighter than standard polyurethane on iron wheels. The wide crown tread is engineered for seamless directional changes. The Durometer is 90A, offering a semi-cushioned ride that is flexible enough to climb over small debris, door jambs, and expansion joints. Given the same size load on a smooth floor, a polyurethane caster wheel rolls easier than the same size conventional rubber caster wheel. This caster wheel offers superior load capacity compared to hard composition or metal wheels with enhanced floor protection. This caster wheel comes with high-efficiency, maintenance-free precision sealed ball bearings. Polyurethane caster wheels can have their chemical bonds weakened by overloading, chemical exposure, heat from continuous usage, or heavy impacts. Ideal for distribution centers, logistics carts, and light industrial applications.

FAQ
Plate Caster Model 3 with PA Polyurethane on Aluminum Wheel
What is the PA Polyurethane on Aluminum Wheel on the Plate Caster Model 3?
The PA Wheel is a blue, non-marking, liquid-cast polyurethane tire chemically bonded to a lightweight, non-rusting aluminum hub for a strong, durable bond. With a slight crown tread, dual-row annular ball bearings, 1-1/4” tread width, and 350 lbs capacity, this NSF-rated wheel rolls easily even at full capacity and is ideal for high-load, light-duty industrial settings like labs or food service.
Why choose PA Polyurethane Wheels for light-duty industrial applications?
The PA Wheel’s liquid-cast polyurethane, chemically bonded to a strong, lightweight aluminum hub, offers superior strength, floor protection, and easy rolling at 350 lbs capacity. NSF-rated for dry settings, it’s perfect for high-load carts in hospitals, research labs, or food service.
How does the chemically bonded polyurethane enhance the PA Wheel’s durability?
The PA Wheel’s polyurethane is chemically bonded to the aluminum hub, creating a robust bond that resists overloading and stress. This ensures long-lasting performance in light-duty industrial settings like labs or hospitals, even at full 350 lbs capacity.
What role does the lightweight aluminum hub play in the PA Polyurethane Wheel?
The lightweight, non-rusting aluminum hub reduces weight while maintaining strength and corrosion resistance. Its attractive design and strong chemical bond with the polyurethane tire enhance durability in dry settings like food service or research labs.
How does the slight crown tread benefit the PA Polyurethane Wheel?
The PA Wheel’s slight crown tread reduces push/pull forces and eases direction changes, offering ergonomic benefits for high-load carts on smooth floors in light-duty industrial settings like hospitals, labs, or food service.
Can PA Polyurethane Wheels handle chemicals in research labs?
Yes, the liquid-cast polyurethane tire resists many chemicals and solvents in dry lab settings. Avoid harsh chemicals to maintain the tire’s strong bond to the aluminum hub, ensuring longevity in research labs.
How easy is it to push the Plate Caster Model 3 with PA Polyurethane Wheels?
The PA Wheel rolls effortlessly even at 100% capacity (350 lbs) due to its liquid-cast polyurethane, dual-row annular ball bearings, and slight crown tread, making it ideal for manual pushing on smooth floors in labs or hospitals.
Can I park the Plate Caster Model 3 with PA Polyurethane Wheels under load?
Avoid parking under loads exceeding 70% of the 350 lbs capacity (245 lbs) for long periods. The polyurethane tire may develop flat spots, impacting performance in hospitals, labs, or food service settings.
Are PA Polyurethane Wheels suitable for rough floors?
No, these polyurethane wheels are designed for smooth, dry floors without obstructions. They’re ideal for light-duty industrial settings like labs, hospitals, or food service, not environments with rough or abusive floors.
Do PA Polyurethane Wheels on the Plate Caster Model 3 require maintenance?
No, the dual-row annular ball bearings are precision-sealed and maintenance-free. Regularly inspect for wear and keep the caster clean to ensure longevity in labs, hospitals, or food service areas.
What are the mounting specs for the Plate Caster Model 3 with PA Polyurethane Wheels?
The Plate Caster Model 3 has a 2 3/8” x 3 5/8” top plate with a slotted bolt hole pattern of 1 3/4” x 2 7/8” to 3”, using 5/16” bolts, fitting standard industrial carts or shelving.
Can the Plate Caster Model 3 with PA Polyurethane Wheels be used in wet environments?
The zinc-plated steel frame isn’t suited for wet, washdown, or corrosive conditions. Use PA polyurethane wheels in dry settings like labs, hospitals, or food service to prevent rust and maintain performance.
Is the Plate Caster Model 3 with PA Polyurethane Wheels NSF-rated for food service?
Yes, both the Plate Caster Model 3 and the PA Wheel are NSF-rated, making them ideal for food service, hospitals, or research labs in dry environments where hygiene and floor protection are critical.
How do I replace the PA Polyurethane Wheel on the Plate Caster Model 3?
Match the wheel’s diameter (3”, 3.5”, 4”, or 5”), 1-1/4” tread width, and 3/8” axle. Choose a blue polyurethane wheel with a slight crown tread, dual-row annular ball bearings, and an aluminum hub for the same high-quality, non-marking performance.
How do PA Polyurethane Wheels compare to rubber wheels for industrial casters?
PA polyurethane wheels roll easier than conventional rubber wheels, even at 350 lbs capacity, and offer better floor protection due to their liquid-cast polyurethane and 95A durometer. They’re ideal for high loads in labs or food service but require smooth floors.
What are the advantages of the swivel design in the Plate Caster Model 3?
The swivel design features two ball bearings on hardened raceways and a metal dust cap, ensuring smooth 360-degree movement and protecting the raceways from dirt and dust in industrial settings like labs or hospitals.
