These industrial pneumatic casters feature air filled pneumatic wheels. These industrial casters are designed for low speed manually moved applications only. Air filled pneumatic wheels provide a cushioned ride, shock absorption and quiet operation. Pneumatic casters are ideally suited for moving fragile or delicate cargo where caster overall height is not critical. Casters with pneumatic wheels are usually the best choice for use outdoors over rough surfaces ( i.e. gravel ) or on grass. 5″ Welded Disc Polyurethane Wheel. Shown in photo with 5″ wheel and modular grip ring stem. The Economy Stainless Steel Stem Caster Model K3 is made using a stamped steel construction and is excellent for corrosive applications. Economy Stainless Steel Stem Caster Model K3 has a ⅜” axle and the swivel bearing is held together by a ½” rivet. Economy Stainless Steel Stem Caster Model K3 caster brackets have two rows of ball bearings rotating on raceways for smoother swiveling. This caster is excellent for washdown situations due to having no swivel bearing cover or a grease fitting, which helps facilitate water draining through the swivel bearing and raceways. Welded disc polyurethane wheels are made from 2 stainless steel discs and the polyurethane tire is permanently molded between them. The welded disc caster wheel comes with stainless steel annular ball bearings which are designed roll on a ⅜” diameter axle. The welded disc polyurethane wheel is an excellent choice for applications that exposes wheels to cleaning agents, steam, caustic solutions, or other corrosive agents which could cause rust or corrosion. Caster City has designed this wheel to come in either 4” or 5” diameters and the tire is 1-¼” wide. The durometer of this polyurethane wheel is 95A(+/-5) and the temperature range of the stainless steel disc wheel is -40°F to +180°F.
